I reckon Aussie workers are too lazy and too expensive. We are pricing ourselves out of the market with high wages, mining taxes and carbon taxes. Wait ’til mining takes off in 3rd world countries in Africa. They will be selling resources to China at a fraction of the cost of ours. Then there will be no need to “import” workers to Australia. Our mining industry will be buggered.
